The Ninth Blog (I once left a Tiger hat at an Outback)

"Let's go to my living quarters" Jeff said. "Ummm? You live in a cave, man?" I replied. "What's wrong with that" he retorted. I found it hard to believe, but I found this entire evening unbelievable so, oh well let's go to the living quarters. I walked forward with the flashlight. I saw a large wall covering, it was a mandala woven with white and red yarn. To me it looked like red and white blood cells colliding within the bone marrow." It's beautiful' I said. "It took a long time to make." he said pulling it aside.

The covering opened to expose a hole in the wall. Once through the cave wall I was again in complete darkness. I heard a lite switch flick on. "Casa de Jeff!" he shouted. His voiced echoed across the giant,  empty hotel that we where now standing in the lobby of. My eyes gazed the vastness of the hotel. "Shall I show you to your quarters?" Father asked. "I suppose that would be a good idea." I replied.

We walked down a corridor towards a set of elevators, they looked really old and dusty. "Do those things even work dad?" I said. "Oh sure, I just greased them last week." he said while pressing the down button. "Greased them, you say, well that's reassuring" I commented. The ornate doors to the elevator opened. The inside was surprisingly clean and maintained in contrast to the outside. African tribal chant music started playing on a tiny sound system within the elevator. "Oh boy, uh Dad, why are the numbers for the floors covered up with pictures of breasts, just curious?" I asked. He pointed at the numbers, and the breasts and scowled and stated, "Just press the 4 son."
